ELE's experienced project leaders with their broad construction knowledge set it apart from other on-hire agencies.
Supplying carpenters, painters, crane operators, ceiling fixers through to general labour on site, we have the people and the expertise for every project. Our trade qualified workers bring tools fit for purpose and have the necessary training and qualifications for the roles they are assigned to.
ELE also engages experienced workers from abroad who bring skills, experience and diversity to each project, while local talent is developed through training and exposure on the large number of commercial and major residential projects ELE is involved with throughout New Zealand.
Working with some of New Zealand's largest local and national civil contracting companies including specialist niche businesses, ELE deploys technical and non-technical workers in a range of roles from construction and engineering through to plant, machine, excavator, truck and trailer, roller and grader operators.
Traffic control workers from Level 1 to STMS are also widely deployed to set up and safely direct traffic on client work sites.
ELE draws on a wealth of knowledge with field coordinators who are highly experienced working in the civil construction space on projects of any scale.
If it's engineers, welders, trade assistants, fabricators, pipe fitters or process workers you need, ELE has people with the experience and qualifications necessary. Our database and recruitment strategies, coupled with a consultative approach to understanding each client’s unique requirements, culture and expectations, enables us to tailor solutions to your business.
ELE is a trusted name and sought after recruitment partner in the supply of skilled contracting personnel to the Oil & Gas sector. Our highly skilled management team has a proven track record sourcing qualified and experienced contract, temporary and permanent engineers, project directors, project managers and administration & technical support.
We offer short to long term staffing solutions for clients wanting flexibility and expertise on projects. Our end-to-end recruitment service is supported by many years of experience on some of New Zealand’s largest on and offshore projects.
Unique in its approach, ELE supplies modern 'Tractor Units' to pull its clients trailers under contract, with full insurance, competent drivers and experienced management. Whether it's just a driver you need or a combination of truck and driver, ELE can assist.
Its competent workforce is assessed and certified to operate vehicles of all sizes and types, carrying anything from general, chilled & frozen and machinery through to fragile and dangerous goods.
ELE's management has extensive transport industry experience which allows it to work closely with transport companies. We understand things go wrong with the best laid plans and constantly adjust to ensure efficient delivery of our clients freight.
LISTEN TO WHAT ONE OF OUR DRIVERS HAS TO SAY.
The world of transport is a world of change - as is the world for drivers. Operators today put resource - both trucks and drivers - where and when they're needed, and that means a significant growth in the opportunity for experienced, qualified drivers to earn great money working on contract. There's a great driving future for those who embrace the change. ELE Truck & Driver are hiring now. Contact us on 0800 DRIVER for more information.
Teams are only as strong as their weakest link. That's why it is so important to partner with a recruitment organisation that listens, understands your hiring needs and above all can identify and secure the best people for your business.
We will work with your hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, keeping you fully informed along the way. You have the option to participate as much as you like throughout the process or let us handle everything on your behalf. Unlike many of our competitors, most of our staff have worked at the coal face within your industry so we know what works and what doesn't.
Sure we will find you someone who can do the job, someone who has the right experience and technical skills and qualifications, but we know ATTITUDE is paramount. And that's something we put more focus on than most. Whoever we place with you must fit your team culture and enhance your organisations effectiveness.
We live by our motto "Right People | Right Place" and constantly strive to exceed our client's expectations.
Standard features included in our Permanent Recruitment solution:
Some employers cringe at the thought of engaging a temporary worker, but more and more companies now realise the tactical benefits of utilising on-hire contract workers.
Believe it or not, many contract workers are far more qualified, adaptable and experienced than those engaged in permanent positions. Simply put "they have to be, as their next assignment often depends on it".
Contract workers enjoy the variety and flexibility that comes with what they do! That's why it isn't unusual for ELE clients to want to offer our workers permanent positions in their business.
A contract workforce will give your organisation the flexibility it needs to grow effectively with the right people, while at the same time enabling you to control your fixed overheads and better manage cashflow. You can take on those ambitious projects or new sales opportunities and rest assured that ELE will engage the best workers for each position.

WELLINGTON / KAPITI
Brent's a people person. When it comes to 'managing' people or 'servicing' clients, Brent prefers to do it through conversation, face-to-face, sometimes over a coffee, sometimes over a beer. Talk to anyone who works with him, employee or client, and you'll discover that Brent's unique style is at the heart of what makes ELE Group a stand-out in the labour hire and contracting industry.
When it comes to strategic thinking and business excellence, not many people top Brett’s experience and results to date. Not one to get overly flustered, Brett goes about his day in a calm methodical manner with regular outbreaks of laughter, so there’s no questioning his nickname “Chuckles”. But if you need your thinking challenged, he’s the man for the job.
Alan brings a wealth of operational experience to the group with more than two decades of executive management experience. It's no wonder after running 50 marathons over the years, he takes the same disciplined approach to everything he does with ELE, driving hard to achieve best practice for the business.
After a decade in Australia working as CFO for a listed company, Aden decided the appeal of working for a smaller family focused business on a journey toward business excellence appealed. He uplifted his family in January of 2018 and now resides happily on the Kapiti Coast where you'll catch him building sandcastles with the kids and reminiscing what it was once like to work in a normal environment.
Vicky deals with multiple things at one time both on and off the ELE clock, with a unique humour that only she really gets. With a keen eye for detail, she's taken up the role as the company's chief internal auditor. It's a journey to business excellence and critical for maintaining integrity and improving performance across all ELE companies.
John's jovial personality makes him approachable to staff and contractors and his attentive eye on compliance and health and safety ensures the business units operate to the highest professional standards. With a background in the trades, he brings a practical bent to his decision making with a humour only tradies truly get; hence the rest of the team just say 'yeah, Jonny'.
Light in stature but far from light in punching power when it comes to anything HR. With degrees in both arts and commerce and an already enviable track record in HR and recruitment, Gigi is a powerful addition to the ELE team. Underpinning Gigi's qualifications and talent around the people side of things is definitely not her 1st class driving skills... the encounter with ELE's concrete block wall on her first day is testament to this.
Calm and methodical, quietly spoken with an element of grace necessary for handling the demands of her role, best describe Jade. They say when you need something done give it to a busy person, but when you need lots of things done, Jades the person every team needs.
It's a rare day that Annette enters a room and people don't smile, as her enthusiastic and encouraging manner lifts the spirit in everyone. Inbetween deep conversations, she does provide some great admin support to the team, occasionally sneaking outside for a quick ciggie.
They say research and development is key to business success. Steve does this from his iPad each morning in between Facebook and the news. All this before disappearing to the local cafe for the ritual bacon and eggs. As unconventional as that may all seem, his wisdom is invaluable.
One of the most important roles in the business is making sure workers are paid on time. This is something Steph does with great efficiency and accuracy, more easily said than done when you have hundreds of workers on dozens of sites every day. Steph carries out many other office admin functions, always with a smile.
A solid and dependable achiever that every business needs, she is accurate to a tee and disciplined in her approach on a daily basis. That's probably why Trish can walk faster than most of us can run. If your payment history is solid, you’ll be Trish's best mate.
Whether its advice on business strategy or finance we need, Denise is always there with a smile but has been noticed on a few occasions to growl just quietly. While some think she may be holidaying in her bunker on Waiheke Island, we think she may have decided to reside where there is poor cell phone coverage.
A man with many talents, from offshore management of large factories to a technical trade cert. Craig now finds himself sitting on the advisory board of ELE contributing to the group's broader strategic plan and trying to keep us all focused as ‘Chair’. When we can’t get hold of him, there’s a good chance he’s cruising in his campervan and out of coverage… Or so he says!
Marty has this great lifestyle at The Mount where few people know his whereabouts, but when he is needed - no matter where in the country - he's like batman on a mission. His thorough understanding of health and safety keeps ELE focused and engaged while his passion for ACC compliance still has us baffled.
Todd's a hands-on, get-it-done guy who brings a calm, methodical approach to client and worker engagement. When it comes to dealing with people, Todd enjoys good old fashioned face to face contact, but much to his displeasure, his phone is relentless but nevertheless always switched on.
Not suffering fools, Kam is exceptional at her craft. Her energy is unequalled and often immeasurable compared only to our fast-paced market. Excellence is a measure she prides herself on along with ensuring our client needs are met at all times.
Direct and professional with a no-nonsense manner, Aaron excels in his role dealing with the constant and challenging labour supply demands of our clients' many construction and civil worksites. A fitness program most would dread as he wanders site to site talking to and motivating our workers while at the same time giving clients a hassle-free peace of mind service that they can depend on.
A passion for success that often leaves others wanting. Cherie has horsepower to burn, finely tuned, engineered in order to meet the extremes. She seeks the best for our clients and recognises that humans don't always fit the mould in which she demands. If you don't meet those measures YOU will not be associated.
Finding the best and new recruits is what drives Annie. With a bubbly get it done attitude, she injects a unique enthusiasm and flair into every task she undertakes, while at the same time bringing some super positive energy to our Auckland operations.
A man with an array of talents from crossing the Tasman on aircraft each day, to making sure high value customers in a casino are being looked after. What on earth made Mr Perfect get into the contract labour business... I'm not sure he knows yet, but we think it's just because we are good buggers. Since joining the business Shandon's taken to it like a duck to water and you can be sure he'll approach your job with the utmost commitment to excellence.
An Egyptian god with a kiwi flavour, he is affectionately known by us all including his clients as "Osiris" a wise, powerful and great pharaoh known for caring for his workers, being a master of commerce and taking over the world. In our case "Auckland". However, on reflection, the World is fine.
A scholar, a coach, a mentor - these are some of the things that reflect his true worth. He consumes nitro-glycerine for breakfast, he is on a mission to seek out the best and to challenge all our workers, truly complementing ELE Group's values and our passion to build the Super city.
A blend of determination, passion and just a get on with it attitude is why most people say "holy smoke who was that" - but it's what separates Jo from most. Delivering a service that her clients simply rave about is what she thrives on. Forget the fact she's played semi-professional basketball in the USA, has sons who compete at the highest level in boxing and softball, Jo fits it all in. A time management guru!
Able to get on with everyone and never shy of a challenge, this young man possesses unique talent and abilities which under the ELE Cadetship Programme will be professionally honed. A member of the Junior Black Sox for two world series, we recently released him from the ELE team to play Softball in the USA for a few months. ELE sees this as crucial in his continued development personally and professionally.
Always calm, well presented and hanging out for the next task. When it's reliability and efficiency you need to get those administration jobs done, Tara is your girl.
With three decades of interior project management experience on some of the largest commercial sites in NZ and abroad, Branko knows how to get the best from his team and the best for his clients. He has a no-nonsense approach and an accent you will eventually get used to. But don't ask him to smile for the camera.
Mike gives the impression it's all under control and most times, believe it or not, it is; although the admin department may beg to differ sometimes. While relatively new to our industry, Mike has already made some great inroads and is successfully helping to grow our Wellington business!
With a background of owning and operating a successful personal training business, Niki brings a fresh energy to the team. Finding quality people isn't easy in the current market but when failure is not an option and the team depends on you to find the right workers, Niki never lets the team down.
New to the industry and heavy transport sector, Sean has decided that the family business is actually not a bad place to be. As a management cadet, he'll be working closely with Aaron, learning all there is to know about the trucking business and what keeps the wheels turning. Maybe like his old man, there is some diesel in the veins after all.
Known for her calm and steady hand in operations and a soothing demeanour, Kara has an absolute no nonsense approach when things aren't going as they should be. Kara is like the steady rudder that every good ship needs, always making sure the "I" is dotted and the "T" is crossed. A real people person with a passion for excellence.
Another softball legend, Thomas represented the Black Sox in numerous world series wins, is the current coach of the Junior Black Sox and is now leader of the Civil team for ELE. Always measured, calm and sometimes hard to read behind those dark shades, he's never short of a winning formula. Thomas is constantly on the hunt for the best crew to represent his team and some of the largest civil operators in the region.
When you just want a matter of fact, no-nonsense, no-stress, just-results approach, Aaron's your man. 'Hours in a day, what are they?' says Aaron. You just do what you have to do. We're certain diesel has contaminated his veins because when it comes to high standards, no one in the history of man has maintained a company vehicle as meticulously as he does.
Having spent his early career in the army, it's no surprise that Darryl enjoys structure. Responsible for the day to day recruitment and coordination of our HT drivers and making sure ELE’s valued clients are happy, basically sums up his day at the moment. But it’s his knowledge around training that will see his role evolve in time as ELE focuses even more on worker training and development, aligned with one of its core values "Growing Together". Meanwhile, like all other good buggers, he just mucks in and does what needs to be done.
With a keen eye on the next opportunity and a knack for developments and construction Paul is always there to lend a hand when needed. Not quite as good looking as the older brother, he generally makes up for it with his flair in the kitchen which no one would argue, is impressive.
The devil is in the detail, If Nikhita was a builder her tool of choice would be a finishing gun. Driven, fine yet accurate. Her drive for excellence is second to none. Keep up or you will be left behind.
